Nokian Tyres Ground King – durable tire for summer and winter conditions

J. Makkonen contracting company has been providing excavator contracting and winter maintenance services since 2003. Owner Jarmo Makkonen says that the company operates with two tractors, a wheel loader and three excavators. They have moved a lot of earth in the last 20 years.

The excavator contracting and winter maintenance services cover almost all the surfaces that Finnish nature has to offer. For this reason versatility was one of the main factors for Mr. Makkonen when choosing tires.

“We were looking for a tire that could be used for both summer and winter maintenance work. Nokian Tyres Ground King was the answer,” Mr. Makkonen describes. “We don’t need two types of tires. For example, in winter, the grip is very good, so there's no need to worry about slipping when sanding or plowing." 

Makkonen has been using Nokian Tyres Ground King for five years. That means up to 4 500 driving hours. “The features have hardly changed,” says Mr. Makkonen.
